December Newsletter

Kyle and Hollie Estes have been working on restoring the historic farmstead of Cassidy Station since early 2022. Cassidy Station sits on one of two farmsteads at Estes Farms, which is a century farm passed down for generations within the Estes family. Kyle and Hollie began working on this heritage project to celebrate the 150 year anniversary of Estes Farms by preserving the rich history it holds and maintaining the rural lifestyle Christian County was founded upon.

The first phase of Cassidy Station, Cassidy Mercantile, is open to the public as of December 7th. While the Mercantile will begin the opening phase of Cassidy Station, there are additional, exciting phases coming in the spring. The Mercantile will offer housewares, home decor, gifts and a curated collection of items that are hard to find and of good quality— including lots of handmade and local products. Future phases of the project will include a boutique Airbnb, flower shop, meat shop, garden shop, and multiple event spaces. The coming phases will allow the community experiences at the farm consisting of special events, indoor and outdoor venues, markets, animals, and more. The concept will be interactive with activities for everyone, perfect for creating memories with loved ones on the farm.

“This farm is my heritage, all the work I have done my whole life has been to make sure this farm is still here,” said Kyle. “Growing up on the farm was a different way of life and I want to allow others to have the memories of growing up on the farm and feel like they are coming to grandma’s house to share a meal, spend time with family, and feed the animals. Since Cassidy Station sits on Estes Farms, which is still a working farm and will continue to be, I want it to bridge the gap for kids that don’t have these experiences growing up anymore. It has been my life’s passion to make sure that others can share in these farm-life experiences.”

Cassidy Station is located on the south side of State Highway CC at 5176 N Fremont Rd, Nixa, MO 65714 in Christian County. This area was originally settled in the 1870’s when the Estes family came from Kentucky to Cassidy, Missouri. The town of Cassidy has since faded as surrounding areas continue to develop. With major developments happening around the area now known as Ozark, Kyle and Hollie wanted to preserve as much of the farm and original identity of the community as possible while providing impactful experiences for all who visit.
